Chris Cookson博士毕业于华威大学，雷丁大学全职学术英语讲师。自2007年以来一直从事普通英语和学术英语教学，主要任教于高等教育领域，曾在中国和英国的清华大学、中国人民大学和爱丁堡大学等高校工作。持有剑桥大学英语教学文凭（DELTA），并获Advance HE高级研究员（Senior Fellow）资格。现任BALEAP《研究与实践学报》（Journal of Research and Practice）编委，并在教育评估、研究方法和学术写作等领域发表及编著学术期刊论文和教材。.
报告内容简介：
Generative AI is rapidly changing how university students approach academic writing. But if AI can produce a well-written paragraph, what do students themselves still need to learn? This lecture explores how GenAI can be used to support - not replace - the development of academic writing skills. It considers practical ways to use AI for understanding, generating ideas, analysing writing, receiving feedback, and improving language, while also highlighting the importance of critical evaluation, human agency, and responsible use. Students will develop a simple framework for deciding when AI supports learning and when it risks replacing it.
