报告人简介:Charles Owolabi obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Physics Electronics and a Master of Technology in Space Physics from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He earned his PhD in Geophysics (Space Physics) from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, in July 2020, under the supervision of Prof. Lei Jiuhou through the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). He then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Southern University of Technology in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. Owolabi is a NASA-funded Postdoctoral Fellow with the MAGICIAN research group at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks, USA. His research focuses on thermosphere-ionosphere coupling, space weather and climate, and geomagnetism. He has contributed to major scientific initiatives, including the IAG-FA-GSWR-JSG1 project on coupling mechanisms between the magnetosphere, thermosphere, and ionosphere (MTI) and the Space Science Research Networks (SSRN). With over 20 SCI-indexed publications and four AGU conference papers to his credit, he is currently leveraging machine learning techniques to enhance the assessment and prediction of thermospheric density for improved low-Earth orbit modeling and prediction.
