专家简介：
Remi Tailleux joined the University of Reading's Department of Meteorology in 2005 as a Lecturer in Physical Oceanography and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014. He obtained his PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Paris 6 in 1996. He then held postdoctoral positions at the University of California Los Angeles (1996-2000), the Laboratory of Dynamical Meteorology in Paris (2000-2003), and the University of Cape Town (2003-2005), before joining the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading as a Senior Research Fellow in 2005. His research has focused on the development of simple models of the ocean thermohaline circulation, the parameterisation of internal gravity wave drag and deep cumulus convection in the atmosphere, the theory of oceanic Rossby waves, and more recently the development of the local theory of available potential energy with applications to the study of turbulent mixing in stratified fluids, ocean mixing parameterisations, the ocean energy cycle, the energetics of atmospheric storm tracks, and tropical cyclone intensification.
