报告摘要: The symmetries in the shape of an object are connected in many ways with group theory. In my research, I study the geometry of singularities. I will describe how bounding the complexity of the singularities appearing on certain geometric objects related to quivers, helps us bound the number of irreducible representations of classical arithmetic groups such as SL_N(Z).
报告人简介：Nero Budur, 比利时鲁汶大学代数组教授，博士毕业于伊利诺伊大学芝加哥分校，主要从事代数几何，D-模等方向的研究，在Ann Sci Ecole Norm（巴黎高师数学年刊），Adv. Math., Compos. Math., Math. Ann., 及 IMRN 等国际一流数学综合杂志上发表论文30余篇.
