报告摘要:Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS) onboard the GK-2B satellite is the instrument, designed for the monitoring of major air pollutants such as aerosol, ozone, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), formaldehyde (HCHO), and so on. GEMS is the first example in the world for utilizing geostationary satellite technique to the monitoring of atmospheric environment. GEMS was launched in February 2020 and it is working very well now. As a result, we can obtained the column quantity of mentioned air pollutants from 2022 after intensive operation periods (IOP). Now, it is the stage to create meaningful ideas for useful application of these GEMS products to solve real atmospheric problems. Related to this request, my research group are performing two projects: (1) Satellite-based estimation of top-down emission of NOxand CO2with independent from the usage of chemical transport model, and (2) radiative forcing estimation using hourly AOD. These two applications are associated with important issues in the community of air quality and climate change, therefore how to practically use according to the policy and public need is also being discussed now.
