Dr. Zhaohua Wu is currently a professor of meteorology at the Florida State University. His research is marked by the blend of physical intuition and mathematical rigor, and spans timescales from a few days (atmospheric waves) to a few million years (glacial-interglacial cycles), with emphases placed on searching for the physical essence hidden in diverse phenomena of climate variability and change. At the same time, he is one of the world’s leading scientists in adaptive and local data analysis. His ensemble empirical mode decomposition method has been applied in numerous research areas of science, engineering, and medicine (with more than 7000 citations based on Google Scholar). He served as an editor for Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences for six years. Since 2015, he has been serving as an executive editor for Climate Dynamics.
