PingWang博士为荷兰皇家气象研究所(KNMI)研究员,专注于卫星遥感的辐射传输模式及云与气溶胶反演算法研究。Wang博士团队开发的FRESCO快速云反演方案被广泛应用于SCIAMACHY、GOME-2、TROPOMI和Sentinel-5等卫星传感器。作为DAK和DISAMAR辐射传输模型代码的主要维护者,Wang博士为KNMI卫星数据处理提供关键技术支撑。Wang博士深度参与Aeolus和EarthCARE卫星任务,激光雷达气溶胶与云产品算法研发和验证,并担任国际辐射委员会(IRC)委员,领导高光谱辐射测量和建模工作组。
报告摘要:
The Earth Cloud, Aerosol and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) was launched on 28 May 2024.EarthCAREis a satellite mission implemented by the European Space Agency (ESA) in cooperation with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). TheEarthCAREsatellite includes four scientific instruments: an atmosphericlidar(ATLID), a Doppler cloud radar, a multi-spectral imager and a broadband radiometer.EarthCAREprovides simultaneous measurements of the vertical structure and horizontal distribution of cloud and aerosol fields, together with outgoing radiation. TheEarthCAREproducts can be used to evaluate the representation of cloud, aerosol, and radiation related processes weather forecasting and climate models.
The Atmospheric Lidar (ATLID) onboardEarthCAREis a high spectral resolutionlidarsystem operating at 355 nm. The ATLID level 2a products include the feature mask, particle extinction coefficient, backscatter coefficient,lidarratio, particle linear depolarization ratio profiles, target classification, a number of aerosol/cloud layer properties derived from the profiles. We have been evaluating the ATLID data using EARLINET (European Aerosol ResearchLIdarNETwork) measurements since August 2024, after the ATLID calibration had been fine tuned during the commissioning phase. ATLID has detected dust plumes over deserts, urban pollutions, volcanic ash, polar stratospheric clouds and so on. In this presentation, we will show some highlights of the ATLID products and demonstrate the potential of applications of ATLID products.
