专家简介：Dr. Zhao is a professor and the Engineering Alumni Endowed Chair of Environmental Engineering at Auburn University. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Lehigh University in 1998. His research focuses on physical-chemical processes in the natural and engineered systems, photocatalytic degradation of persistent organic pollutants, and developing innovative nanomaterials and technologies for in situ remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. His group has been a pioneer in developing novel stabilized nanoparticles for in situ degradation of organic pollutants and immobilization of metals and radionuclides in soil and groundwater, and the technologies have been field-tested or applied worldwide. He is also a leader in developing adsorptive photocatalysts for degradation of persistent organic pollutants. He and co-workers have published/delivered more than 200 SCI-indexed journal papers, 7 U.S. patents, one textbook, 15 book chapters, 130+ invited or keynote presentations, and 250+ other publications/presentations. His work has been cited more than over 13,000 times with an h-Index of 58. He is also listed in the Stanford World’s Top 2% Scientists in environmental science.
